When I was recovering I had many questions but no one could give me any answers so I had to really struggle and find the answers myself by trial and error, the questions and answers section has been included to help people with any problems that they may have and make recovery easier and quicker.

Stealing
Question I stole things from work in the past and critical voices are giving me a hard time over it, if I admit that I stole things I will probably lose my job and could be charged by the police etc. I don’t want to lose my job and wind up in jail but it is becoming a real problem.
Answer You could ask critical voices if you can just put it into the past (because you were suffering from mental illness at the time), if that fails, you could ask them if you could pay it back anonymously by mail, and if you can’t afford it straight away, as soon as you can afford do do so; and as long as you are serious, they will likely leave you alone and you can pay it back. If they persist and it is too much of a problem, it may pay to look for another job and avoid winding up in jail. If you can’t find another job and it is too much of a problem, you will probably have to choose between risking your job and going to jail, or resigning and at least getting away from the problem.
